I’m Julienne Ortega, a self-taught crochet artist based in Los Angeles. Growing up in a family full of artists and musicians, I was always surrounded by creativity—a constant source of inspiration that helped shape the artist I am today. I started learning to crochet in 2019 by watching YouTube tutorials, picking it up on and off. After having so much fun making pieces for my friends and family, I stepped out of my comfort zone in 2022 to share my creations with the world. I began by posting my work on social media: the wins, the mistakes, and the custom commissions.

Eventually, I created From Hapie—a project that has become a love letter to myself and the incredible people who’ve supported me, celebrated my dreams, embraced my true self, and empowered me to take up space. The name From Hapie was lovingly suggested by my sister, who adores letter closers. It felt more like a message than just a name, like a little love note in yarn form. The mascot also represents the sun which is inspired by Solaire, my favorite npc from Dark Souls; a small tribute to my childhood that brings me light.

From Hapie is fully owned and operated by me. Every piece is meticulously handcrafted with love. This brand is all about honoring slow fashion, embracing creative expression, and offering personalized, meaningful pieces you can cherish.
